Having proven our ability to deliver multi-discipline capital projects with high-quality and exceptional client outcomes, Stanmore engaged Waterline to support them with their Power Station project at South Walker Creek.

Impressed by our team’s customer-centric focus and high quality engineering and project management, Stanmore Resources engaged our team to support them with pre-feasibility level Engineering support to provide integration project services and engineering design for items outside of the battery limits of their vendors’ scopes.

We have extensive experience in supporting mining operations with projects to support mine ventilation, gas management and decarbonisation requirements. Which is one of the many reasons our client Stanmore turned to Waterline to ensure their new Power Station at South Walker Creek would be delivered successfully.

THE CHALLENGE

Stanmore is undertaking several decarbonisation projects, with one being the installation of a gas power station at their South Walker Creek mine site. This power station is to be supplied gas via a new borefield.

Stanmore engaged several vendors to develop the gas drainage, reticulation system and power plant, and approached Waterline for pre-feasibility level Engineering support to provide integration project services and engineering design for items outside of the battery limits of the vendors’ scopes.

This phase of the project required a level of Engineering design to be undertaken to provide a +/- 20% cost estimate and supporting execution plan for project approval.

THE solution

Waterline focused on delivering the scope of works over four phases.

Waterline undertook extensive planning, risk assessments, and a methodical approach to civil, structural, electrical, and mechanical integration, incorporating input and reviews from all stakeholders including TEC, Enernet, and Stanmore. Waterline also designed all necessary components including access roads, water management systems, and power supply lines to holistically execute the project.
