We’re into the second month of 2022 already, where does the time go? Waterline has been busy with finalising arrangements as sponsors of the 20th Anniversary Longwall Mining Conference on 7-8 March 2022. Let me tell you a little bit more about the event!
At Waterline, we love our one-off social events and ability to connect with clients and industry alike, so with that being said, an opportunity to be part of the 20th Anniversay Longwall Mining Conference in the Hunter Valley was something we could not resist. The Longwall 2022 Conference happens to be one of the Nation’s key events for elite underground miners, so you can imagine my excitement at that given my background in the sector.
Three decades in the industry
My excitement emanates from three decades of expertise in the subject matter, especially for automation. My journey began in the UK as an apprentice electrician in a coal mine and with much dedication, I continue this journey as an engineer in the mining industry. Three decades summed up—I began as an electrician, transitioned to shift engineer, OEM engineer, OEM manager, then consultant maintenance professional and here we are today.
With my extensive knowledge, I’m able to support our clients on or off site. Because I’ve been on site and have worked with OEMs, I can apply this knowledge to keep our clients supported. All the way from Newcastle, without stepping a foot on site, I’m able to keep our clients’ cogs moving. It’s that support and the cadence at which we provide this assistance that clients appreciate the most.

Having worked at OEMs and delivered various Longwall projects throughout my career, I’m looking forward to connecting with clients and making new connections with the delegates. The driver for me is being able to deliver tangible benefits for clients that result in improved efficiencies, reliability, productivity and most importantly, safety.
