At Waterline, we’ve always believed in showing up where it matters most. Whether that’s on site, at our offices, or in the heart of the communities we call home.
That’s why I’m proud to share that Waterline is the major sponsor of the 2025 Fittest in the Coal Fields Moranbah CrossFit Competition, taking place on 6 September in Moranbah, Queensland.
This event isn’t just about fitness. It’s about resilience, camaraderie, and community. We are proud to support our clients in Moranbah and the Bowen Basin region, and proud to support the communities in which we operate.
This initiative hits home
We operate in an industry that demands mental clarity, physical endurance, and a solid team mindset. Many of our people work in high-pressure environments, some FIFO, some DIDO, managing projects, challenges and timelines in Australia’s resource sector.
Over the years, I’ve seen first-hand the impact that exercise and connection can have on mental health and performance. CrossFit in particular offers something special a blend of personal accountability, shared effort and real-world strength. Those who know me would know I am an avid CrossFitter and sponsoring the 2025 Fittest in the Coal Fields Moranbah Competition is more than just putting our logo on a shirt.
It’s about investing in the people and places that support us and supporting the wellbeing of our team and the wider mining community. I strongly believe that CrossFit ticks all the boxes, from physical to mental health, to providing social connections. It’s the banter and the camaraderie that make CrossFit special. It’s a great way to get active, stay active and look after our bodies.
What’s more is exercise helps reduce mortality, slows down biological aging and lowers the risk of multiple age-related diseases*. So, while us CrossFitters may experience the occasional injury here and there, it’s what’s actually making us stronger and helping us stay fit for life.
What’s ahead
Through this partnership, we’re helping fund the construction of a new shed for CrossFit Moranbah, giving local athletes and sporting enthusiasts more space to train, connect and grow. We’ll also be featuring stories from the community and our own team, real people with real reasons for showing up and giving it their all.
Personally, I’ll be cheering loudest for every competitor who steps onto the floor, not just for their athleticism, but for their courage to show up, support one another and build something bigger than themselves. I am hopeful that I have improved on last year’s performance, I mean after all, it’s always about improving right?
To everyone training hard, planning the event, or considering registering: we see you, we back you, and we’re proud to stand beside you.
Let’s make this year’s Fittest in the Coal Fields Moranbah the strongest yet. Why not come and see if you’re up for the challenge? Register now, to avoid missing out. Register here.
