It’s great to be settled into the Electrical Team here at Waterline. From day one, I’ve been impressed by the team’s commitment to delivering high-quality solutions across all aspects of our work. As I lead this team, I’m excited to share my hands-on Electrical Engineering expertise, in particular from my recent site-based role with BHP Billiton, one of Waterline’s clients in the mining sector. Having joined the team from the client side, I look forward to bringing an owner’s mindset to our project delivery approach, through sharing my knowledge and understanding, helping improve our clients’ operations and keeping them efficient, productive, and safe.

At Waterline, we manage a wide range of projects, from feasibility studies and concept design to installation support during construction and commissioning. Our capabilities ensure that all our clients receive quality service, compliance, and satisfaction at every stage. I look forward to further developing our team and tackling both minor upgrade projects and large-scale capital projects.

Prioritising safety: protecting clients and operation in high-risk environments

We prioritise safety at Waterline, and in the Electrical Team, it is the core of everything we do. When delivering Hazardous Area and Intrinsically Safe (IS) audits, we ensure the utmost protection in high-risk environments. As October is Workplace Safety Month, I want to emphasise the importance of safety and how we protect our clients’ operations and personnel by highlighting two of our proud projects:

Tarong Coal Bunkering Hazardous Area Compliance:

Stanwell engaged Waterline to reduce Hazardous Area risks in the coal bunkering areas of the Tarong Power Plant. Our team identified at-risk equipment in these designated areas and selected appropriate replacements and alternative designs.

BMA IS Audit:

BHP Billiton’s Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) required Waterline to audit their Intrinsically Safe calculations for the gas monitoring and communications equipment associated with the LW19 conveyor. Our team analysed and reviewed the provided calculations to ensure our client met AS60079 standards and designed them for safe installation.

Our projects are a testament to our dedication, with safety driving innovation and reliability at every step. We don’t just meet industry standards—we strive to exceed them to ensure our clients operate in the safest environments possible.

Let’s continue to make safety a priority today and every day.
