Tim Strong
Chief Executive Officer / director
Tim Strong is a dynamic, results-driven and innovative executive, who is highly experienced across strategy, leadership and operational excellence in the resources industry. As a highly engaging and strategic leader focused on mutual success, Tim led large multi-discipline teams to deliver various business improvements for asset owners before joining Waterline. His efforts resulted in over 40% ongoing improvement in labour utilisation and more than 35% increase in equipment reliability.
Since joining Waterline in 2018, Tim has championed the company’s focused approach to enhancing the client and employee experience, while driving operational excellence. On 27 July 2022, Tim was appointed as Waterline’s Chief Executive Officer, on the strength of his strategic leadership, operational and mining industry experience, as well as for his passion for using data and insights to drive business improvements to deliver enhanced client and employee experiences. Tim is always pursuing opportunities for mutual success while ensuring Waterline delivers on its purpose of Partnering with Australian Industry to provide safe and sustainable resources to the world.
Randall Makin
Founder / director
Randall Makin, a strategic leader and former Chief Executive Officer of RedEye Apps (Acquired FTV:NYSE), has returned to Waterline as a Founder / Director to lead new business efforts. With a passion for optimising engineering solutions that deliver client value, Randall is an innovator at heart.
Randall’s goal is to continue Waterline’s strategy of delivering high-quality advisory, capital, and operational engineering projects for the Resources Industry, while leveraging technology to delight our clients.
Evelyn Mejias
Manager, Growth & People
As Manager of Growth & People, Evelyn Mejias leads the systems, strategy, and partnerships that enable business growth and performance. She focuses on aligning people, operations, and client experience to drive measurable outcomes and scalable execution. With more than 20 years of experience across ASX-listed companies and sectors including logistics, banking, infrastructure, FMCG, and professional services, she has delivered initiatives that improve efficiency, strengthen capability, and support sustained growth.
Brendan Ellacott
Head of Finance
Brendan is a Chartered Accountant and senior finance leader with more than 20 years’ experience across ASX-listed companies and global banking. He specialises in financial strategy, capital management, and commercial decision support, and has held roles with Aurizon, ING Bank, and Anson Resources. At Waterline, he leads the finance function, driving financial discipline and supporting scalable growth.
Justin Pearson
Manager, Structural, Mechanical & Piping
Justin is a Mechanical Engineer with more than 20 years of experience in the mining and heavy industries. Experienced in leading teams, Justin applies critical thinking to solve complex client problems. Justin is a Registered Professional Mechanical Engineer (RPEQ) and is a Chartered Professional Engineer in Mechanical and Management (CPEng Mechanical & Management). He leads the Structural, Mechanical and Piping team at Waterline. Justin also has extensive experience as a Reliability Engineer at a site, regional and head office level.
Warren Sweeney
Acting Manager, Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls
Warren has more than 25 years of experience in Electrical Trade and Project Engineering within heavy Industry. He brings a strong history of big project experience, working across industries on some of Australia’s best known resources projects. Warren is a specialist in onsite project engineering and commissioning, bringing a lifetime of trade knowledge and project experience.
Aidan Cameron
Mackay Region Manager
With more than 15 years of experience across mining, engineering, and project delivery in Mackay and the Bowen Basin, Aidan Cameron brings deep operational expertise to Waterline’s regional clients. His background spans CHPP construction, dragline rewires, major shutdowns, electrical upgrades, and energy efficiency initiatives across some of Queensland’s most significant mine sites. As our Mackay Regional Manager, Aidan combines local knowledge with Waterline’s national and international capability to deliver pragmatic, cost-effective engineering solutions grounded in an owner’s mindset, prioritising safety, reliability, and productivity for every operation he supports.

Alex Klimson
team leader, Mechanical
Alex is a Mechanical engineer with more than twenty years in mining, minerals processing, bulk materials handling, specialty chemicals and heavy manufacturing. RPEQ registered (Mechanical) and CPEng, he is able to carry design certification and technical governance on client work. Equally at home leading a design office, running brownfield capital delivery inside an operating plant, or advising an owner on where capital should go. Alex brings the owner side of the table: direct experience as the client for consultants, fabricators and equipment suppliers, which shapes how scope is written, reviewed and accepted.
Harry Kippen

Harry is a driven Mechanical Engineer with several years of experience in minerals processing plants, bringing strong communication skills, critical thinking, and a practical approach to problem-solving. Throughout his career, he has worked predominantly in the mining and minerals industry across a broad range of mechanical engineering activities, supported by extensive site experience in asset management, reliability engineering, and project management. A collaborative and team-focused professional, Harry has worked with materials handling equipment, pumps and piping systems, minerals processing equipment, and associated infrastructure. He leads a team of Mechanical engineers, delivering reliable and pragmatic engineering outcomes for our clients.
John Gilley

A Structural Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland, John brings more than 40 years of international experience in design and construction of structural projects in the resources sector, oil and gas, minerals processing, and industrial building space. John oversees complex engineering projects, leveraging advanced tools to deliver exceptional results for our clients.
Oliver Lee

Oliver is a Chartered Electrical Engineer with more than 10 years of experience in design and engineering support. His experience spans across the mining and oil & gas industries. Oliver is highly regarded for delivering quality service to clients and stakeholders in all aspects including design and engineering, project scoping, budget and schedule management, and contract management. His broad experience enables him to make informed management and engineering decisions to contribute to optimal project outcomes.
Rebecca Henderson
team leader, Project Management Office
Rebecca is a Senior Project Manager with more than 15 years’ experience delivering capital and operational projects, spanning over 10 years in oil and gas and 5 years in mining. She has a proven record of delivering complex, multi-discipline projects on time and within budget while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards.
She leads and mentors project delivery teams, manages project financials end to end, and builds the strong client relationships that turn successful delivery into repeat work.
